Course Overview
The 2021 revisions to the Office/Other Outpatient E/M Visit Services are still being questioned by practices when putting them into practice. Under what circumstances can reviewing/analyzing data be counted? When is a stable, chronic condition not stable? In this webinar, we will look at the 2021 revised E/M guidelines, MDM table, the 2021 definitions added to CPT for Office/Other Outpatient Visit Services and review multiple examples of different medical record entries for practical application.
In this presentation, listen to Betty Hovey, BSHAM, CPC, CCS-P, CDIP, COC, CPMA, CPCD, CPB, CPC-I as she discusses how to determine the proper E/M office visit level utilizing the new MDM Table, including:
Agenda
How to determine if a chronic condition is stable or exacerbated
Do self-limited/minor problems always support a level 2 visit only?
How to figure out the new Data elements
When can you count a test ordered?
When can you count review of a test?
Can an external physician be in your practice?
What elements are needed for 99211?
How do Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) factor into the MDM Table?
Are those definitions important?
