Course Overview

The Medicare Appeals process can seem daunting.  Whether it is your first time filing one, or you are an “old pro” at it, this webinar, the first in a series, will give you best practices on winning your appeals.  Come listen to Dr. David Mullens, DPM, JD, author of “How to Win Medicare Appeals” published by the American Bar Association.

In this webinar, Dr. Mullens will cover the five levels of Medicare Appeals and at which level you have the best chance of overturning the denial.  He will talk in depth on the third level, Disposition by Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals, where an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) is involved.  Dr. Mullens will detail how best to present your case at this most important level.

Come get tips from the expert that literally wrote the book on the subject.

Dr. Mullens is a podiatric surgeon and a healthcare attorney. In the middle of his podiatric career, incensed by how the Medicare system treated healthcare providers, he decided to go to law school and do something about it. For the past 20 years he has focused his legal practice on fighting Medicare repayment demands and denials of claims for a wide variety of Medicare providers. Based on his experience, the American Bar Association asked him to write a book and share his expertise with other attorneys and healthcare providers. His book, “How to Win Medicare Appeals,” was published by the American Bar Association in 2020.
